It was the first S Club 7 single to be released as a double A-side later followed by "Say Goodbye/Love Ain't Gonna Wait for You" in 2003. It featured a slow ballad ("Two in a Million") with lead vocals sung by Jo as well as a fun up-tempo retro number ("You're My Number One").

Song information and music video

"Two in a Million"

"Two in a Million", S Club 7's first ballad, is a song about falling in love and having somebody to comfort you and be there for you no matter what. The song sees Jo O'Meara taking the lead vocals for the first time.

The music video was actually shot in Los Angeles, California[1] and sees the group all together in a house getting ready for a party. The video has a "black and white" theme to it, in that, in the beginning, the group are dressed in white clothes, and surrounded by white walls and furniture. The group are seen to be getting ready for a party; the boys are shaving in the bathroom and the girls are trying on clothes in the bedroom. They then sing together on a sofa. S Club 7 then move outside, where there is a swimming pool and continue their singing there. The colours change to black; they wear black clothes and there is dark lighting. People soon join them and the group sing and dance until the end of the music video.

The album version of "Two in a Million" and the Boyfriends & Birthdays version (named after their TV movie) are almost exactly the same, except the Boyfriends & Birthdays version has a slightly more robust instrumentation, taking on a more orchestral and R'n'B approach, and pauses the music during the last line of each verse right before the chorus. The latter is included on the North American version of 7. Moreover, the demo version of the song, as heard on "Miami 7", includes loud pop horns in the arrangement, which were removed for album release. However, the horns were re-included in the single version, this time at a lower pitch and a softer volume.

The video has gained 530,196 views on YouTube as of April 11, 2008. S Club 7's record company Universal Music Group added the video to the track on to their YouTube channel on 11, October 2008, prompting it to be one of the week's most viewed videos with over 140,000 views in under 48 hours.

"You're My Number One"

"You're My Number One" is a more upbeat, retro-styled song about a person questioning what love is to them. They feel that if love is what they are feeling, then they have to tell the person they like that they're their "number one", in that nobody else is right for them.

Like "Two in a Million", the music video was shot in New York.[1] Throughout, S Club 7 are performing in front of a white background, and are performing a dance routine. Half way through the video, the group partake in a foam fight. Towards the end, S Club 7 are joined by many more dancers who perform the same hand jive-esque routine until the end of the music video.

It should be noted that the "Miami 7" version is significantly different from the album version as it contains a heavier drum track, features multilayered vocals from Jo in the chorus and takes on a more modern style. The "Miami 7" version of the song was not actually the version heard on Miami 7, as it and the album version contain a different intro and take on different approaches than the version heard on Miami 7.

The video has gained 696,171 views on YouTube as of March 5, 2009.
